Internet resources are abundant and many links are shared on the yahoo group that are relevent to homeschooling. There is also an abundance of folders in the link section at the yahoo group that can be added to by all members.
Events are posted on the calendar - all events can be clicked on for details on fees, directions, etc. All members can post to the calendar.
weekly gym day, family potluck, field trips, fruit picking, campout weekend, gardening, beach days, Mom's Night Out, weekly park gatherings, library day gathering with guest speakers and BYOBG (bring your own board games), Kids Zine, field trips, Jr. First Lego League, dance class, swimming...
There are many activities that are shared with our group (but not planned by members of our group), which are not listed here out of courtesy. There is a wonderfully supportive homeschooling community here in Northwest Michigan!
An ongoing GTH community project...
To give the kids of this homeschooling community a forum to express themselves and feel pride at seeing something they created in print format, as well as to share with one another their interests and opinions, thus learning more about each other. I am not an editor, just volunteering to assemble it. Spelling, punctuation, grammar, and composition competency is not necessary to participate. All ages are encouraged to be a part of this. In the true spirit of a zine, free expression and sharing is the objective. The only rule is that the submission be an original!
For the purposes of our group, the zine we produce bi-monthly will have no unifying theme or focus. This is a cooperative zine and the content will be whatever is submitted by the homeschooling children who participate. Content can include text and/or pictures, thus ALL ages are able to contribute if they desire.
